28th January 2007

'O' level results are coming out on the 5th. Or so they say. Not that it would affect me much, but it will certainly affect the people around me. Come to think of it, the people I hang out with are all getting back their results then.

I used to be able to crap something out of nothing once I'm faced with this "create post" screen. But somehow, when looking at this scene now, nothing comes to mind. Even stuff that I wanted to blog about, somehow slips out of my mind.

A blog is nothing more than a journal. To me, it is something that merely records significant events, and my style of writing. It is something for me to look back at ten years down the road. A place to see how I have matured.

Okay, I know I am ranting. But my point is that, I want my memories to survive somewhere. In a place where I can access it conveniently in the future. If one day I ever lose my memories, I'll know where to recover it.
30th January 2007

Cogito, ergo sum.
I think, therefore I am.

Despite the simplicity of this phrase, debates over how this phrase should actually mean has been going on for a long time. My own interpretation of it is simple. Taken at face value, it may or may not be the intended meaning by Descartes. My existence is confirmed by the fact that I am thinking.

I think I am thinking.
I am thinking.
Because I am thinking, I am a thinker.
For me to be a thinker, I must exist.
I exist.

But what is existence without a purpose?
Nothing. Existence is substantiated only when there is a purpose for it. When the purpose is lost, the meaning behind the existence is lost too.

28th January 2007

Another day burnt. Despite the wind, the weather was still warm. But at least it wasn't wet. The day was spent watching animes and thinking about life in general. Quite a boring way to kill time, but it has become a daily routine whenever I'm at home.

School is ending soon. But not before the semester exams come. I can say that I am totally unprepared for this hurdle. But still, I cannot find the discipline to start mugging. Thermofluids look so complicated to me. And maths? I can't understand what is laplace transform all about. Not to mention Aerospace Materials and Processes. What's with polymers and ceramics and all those curves. I am so screwed.

I feel pretty depressed today. Maybe it's because I have identified my fear. And also realise that my fear is pretty much of what is going on right now. Maybe all these will pass soon.

Maybe.
All I can do now is to carry on searching.

Here's a couple of short updates before I rush off to school.

IAC and COMT presentation is finally over! That means 2 less projects and a whole chunk of free time on thursdays!

Shortlisted for Sports Camp GLs. At least I got through the first round of selections and is shortlisted. The interview's tomorrow. Hope I can get in.

Open House is over! Ngee Ann Polytechnic Open House 2007 is finally over. The open house left me totally exhausted. But the FOC comm still has work to do.

I'm finally ill! Okay. Or rather, I'm still ill. My throat, which had recovered almost fully, is back again! Coupled with a leaking nose and a persistant cough, I'm currently feeling like crap.

And I missed thermofluids and maths lecture today.

So many things left to do but so little time.

11th January 2007
Status: on the verge of falling sick
New year, new life
Paper on polymer composites is finally finished and handed in. What's left is the two presentations and open house. Actually, just any one of those three is enough to kill me.
New life, new jobs
Anyway, life has been busy since my last post, which happened to be shockingly short. My sleeping time has been extended to 4am thanks to rushing AMP project (thank god it's all done), brainstorming for ideas to use for open house, killing brain cells thinking of pieces to borrow to bring down to X-Winds practices, and many other retarded stuff like doing IAC (a really retarded IS module called Individual and Community) and ComToolkit (another retarded IS module to teach us how to speak confidently and information papers).
New jobs, new responsibilities
**Commercial Break**
New responsibilities, more stress
Next item will be Open House on the 18th to 20th. We (Ngee Ann Concert Band) will be having performances by the brass quintet, woodwind ensemble and percussion ensemble on thursday at 3pm. Please come and support if you have the time!
More stress, less rest
**End of commercial break**
Less rest, more shag
But I am too shag to carry on typing anymore. Got to do up my powerpoint slides for presentation.
More shag, bad mood
Till the next update then!

First week of school is totally crazy. I'm being deprived of sleep and polymer composites are constantly on my mind! Not to mention the deadlines trying to strangle the life out of me.
